Transparency is the foundation of every tool on Trades Checker. Rather than asking you to trust a black-box number, this page walks through exactly how our crypto profit calculator works — the formula, the data behind it, and where its limits are.
Every profit calculation on this site follows the same logic:
Net Profit = (Sell Price × Quantity Sold − Selling Fee) − (Buy Price × Quantity Bought + Buying Fee)
We calculate cost and proceeds separately, apply fees to each side individually, and only then find the difference. This matters because fees are charged twice in a typical round-trip trade — once when you buy, once when you sell — and calculating them separately (rather than as one combined estimate) keeps the math accurate even if your buy fee and sell fee percentages are different.
Buy Side:
• 0.05 BTC at $60,000 = $3,000 cost
• Plus 0.2% buying fee ($6)
• Total spent = $3,006
Sell Side:
• 0.05 BTC at $68,000 = $3,400 proceeds
• Minus 0.2% selling fee ($6.80)
• Net received = $3,393.20
Net Profit = $3,393.20 − $3,006 = $387.20
Without fees, a simple calculation shows $400 — overstating the real result by $12.80.
On larger positions or frequent trading, this gap grows significantly, which is why we treat fees as a required input rather than an optional extra.
Coin prices: Pulled from live market data via the CoinGecko API (with Binance API as a fallback), updated in real-time with a 30-second cache to balance speed and accuracy.
PKR and other currency conversions: Based on current USD/PKR exchange rate data from the open.er-api.com service, refreshed every 10 minutes to reflect near-live rates.
Default fee: When a user doesn't manually enter a fee percentage, we default to 0.1%, which reflects a typical spot-trading fee on major exchanges — but we always recommend entering your exchange's actual fee for the most accurate result.
Being upfront about a tool's limitations matters. Here's exactly what our calculator covers — and what it deliberately doesn't.
We flag these limitations directly rather than quietly ignoring them, because a tool that hides its blind spots is less useful — and less trustworthy — than one that's upfront about them.
Any price-prediction figures on this site are estimates based on historical price patterns and market data — they are not guarantees and should not be treated as financial advice. Crypto markets are highly volatile and influenced by factors (regulation, macroeconomic events, sentiment shifts) that no calculator can fully predict.
We recommend using our predictions as one input among several, not as a sole basis for a trading decision. Always cross-check with your own research and risk tolerance.
